The Spirit of the lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted, he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted,to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of  the prison to those who are bound. Isaiah 61 vs 1. This scripture has given me strength in this onerous task to give succour, solace, and hope to the prisoners-pastor(princess) Akuabata Ike.

The Hope for prisoners project was founded in the year 2000 as a non-profit making, non-denominational christian charity organization. It has no political undertone and the membership is open to both male and female members of the society. Our source of funding are free will donations, monthly dues and special project levies. Others are through special appeal for grants to corporate organizations and donor agencies and churches.

The objectives of the organization are:

1. To give prisoners sense of belonging through the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and engaging repentance.
2. To promote welfare of prisoners by donating food items, drugs clothings etc to improve their standard of living.
3. To assist prison in-mates who cannot afford to pay hospital fees, legal fees medical fees etc.
4. To assist ex-convicts and ensure their acceptability and rehabilitation in the society through the provision of financial and material assistance.
5. To build a frame work for poverty alleviation and sustainable development through self reliance under vocational training programme.
6. To work in partnership with other agencies and non-governmental organizations(NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs) and human rights groups to ensure and promote rights of  prisoners
